Ex Chef/ Cul Director
Robert Kirby
Robert Kirby, Executive Chef
Robert Kirby joined Heavy Restaurant Group as Sous Chef at Purple Café & Wine Bar in Woodinville. He shined in that support role for a year and it did not take long for the self-taught wunderkind to get noticed. As plans to open a second location took shape, Kirby emerged as the lead candidate for Executive Chef due primarily to his unquenchable curiosity about food and wine, endless creativity, strong work ethic and remarkable people skills.
Originally from Maryland, Kirby managed a café in Colorado before moving to the Northwest. He now oversees the kitchens and staff for all
four Purple locations. His cuisine has been recognized in Wine Press Northwest for its “rustic yet urban style.”
Harry Mills, Culinary Director
A Seattle native, Mills graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle’s School of Culinary Arts, where he later taught for 7 years. Previous stops also include Le Provençale in Kirkland and
Geneva in Seattle where he was the Sous Chef. Mills grew up eating Italian food, and has always been fascinated by its simplicity, timelessness and ingredient-driven process. Mills now brings that approach and style to his cooking with Heavy Restaurant Group
Harry Mills joined Heavy Restaurant Group as Sous Chef at Purple Café and Wine Bar. Mills was an integral part of Seattle’s opening team, and spent a short time as interim head chef before being promoted to Culinary Director.
